PROPELLER STRUT REPLACEMENT?

Post by Runaway »

I am looking for a source to replace my existing prop strut that seems to be suffering from electrolysis damage and is very brittle. Would consider a new or used one. If this ends up being too difficult will just go outboard.

Are there any available from Tiara?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

I have purchased 497 which has an inboard which I will be removing, so I will have parts. I will also be selling the inboard which is a Yanmar 1 cylinder that operates fine.

What was your motivation for pulling the Yanmar? Seems that most racers just like losing the weight and additional drag.

Also, how do you intend to repower?

When do you think you'll complete the change?

You really need an outboard to be competitive in class events. It is more the drag in light air. I have a 6hp Nissan already so all I need is the motor mount. I did this conversion on Hull 22 a few years back. It's a winter project should be done after the first of the year.
