Sorry for the long post, but the Forum is broken (again). I cannot send emails via the web page. So here is the event news:
East Coast Champ Series
The 2005 ECC series consists of three great regattas – The St. Pete NOODs, Charleston Race Week, and the Annapolis NOODs. One throw-out is allowed, so you need attend only two of the three regattas to qualify for the series. Scores for the ECC will be computed as the sum of the regatta (not race) finishing places for the best two qualifying regattas. Ties will be broken by (a) the greatest number of first place finishes, and if necessary (b) the greatest number of second place finishes, and so on. In the event of a complete tie, the EC Champion shall be the yacht which was first to score a first place finish. If none, then second place. If none, third place, etc.
The Bob Fleck-designed trophies for First, Second and Third Places will be awarded at the Annapolis NOODs. Need not be present to win….but it’s a lot more fun.
St. Pete NOODs Feb 18 – 20
The class rep is Mike Elliott aboard #212 Instigator. 810-240-7781. Mike will be inspecting (not weighing) boats, so please give him a hand wherever possible. Please note that this is NOT the Midwinter Championship.
Charleston Race Week & S2 7.9 Midwinter Championship
Greg Siewert is the class rep and coordinator for the second year at this terrific venue. Email: siewertdesign@mindspring.com
Note as well that free boat storage is available, but you must contact the yard in advance. See the CRW home page. http://www.charlestonraceweek.com/
Annapolis NOODs April 29 – May 1
Bob Fleck is the class coordinator. windward@cox.net
Last year most of the S2s rafted up just across the river from the yacht club. Lots of fun at a really great venue. We should have more than a dozen boats there this year. The ECC trophy presentation will be at the Tent-o-Fun just after the event.
Finally, please be aware that each of these events is a CLASS SANCTIONED REGATTA. Class rules apply throughout. Note especially…
1) You must be a current class member.
2) All of your corrector weight must be aboard.
3) Take note of the on-the-water sail replacement restrictions in 3.7.B
4) Crews of six or more must weigh less than 1100 lbs total as per 3.6.1
