Spinnaker Pictures

Post by Rhys05 »

All-

Our first season with our 7.9, we've become pretty good at handling her with the main and genoa and are starting to look at our spinnaker and thinking that we should probably get it out at some point and try it out. I've looked at the diagram in the manual, and I think I see the general idea of how to set it up, but its not particularly clear. Anyone have some good pictures of snatch block (for sheets and twings) placement and sheet/guy routing? Any other tips for a spinnaker newbie?

Thanks!

Hi Brandon,
You will find that sailing with the spin is pretty easy on the 7.9. If you go to our web page Doyleboston.com. If you go into the Photo's or even the tuning guide you will see lots of pictures to help you out. If you have any other questions or just need more info please ask! You can reach me at spike@doyleboston.com

Spike- Thanks for the heads up, I had looked at the tuning guide before, but hadn't really noticed the spinnaker pictures. That said, on an Inboard boat like mine, I have a rear pulpit instead of the loop, and it doesn't have a place to attach the rear block for the spinnaker. Would you suggest placing it on the rearmost position on the rail, or someplace else? Again, thanks for the information, and the pictures on the Doyle Boston website are helping considerably as well (pretty good photography for the most part, make sure you compliment your photographer!)
